This September, we were excited to have  Nadia Albertini, a NYC based textile and embroidery designer, featured in the Work In Progress program.

During her residency, Nadia set up her studio in the window of TAC’s Manhattan Studio, displaying swatches and sketchbooks, as well as her techniques and processes, and filled the space with magic and glitter.

In her work,  she often combines the use of different techniques and materials, to achieve surprising and inventive results. Some of the materials used range from cottons and silks, to handwoven raffia fibers, or leather, Swarovski crystals to coconut beads or wood. She has also hand-printed and dyed her fabric before beading to achieve even more intricate results. Nadia’s embroidery and textile designs have been featured in the collections of many renowned fashion designers all over the world.
